A Closer Look at Coron Philippines


It's true that Coron, Philippines is the best dive site and is a beautiful tourist destination. Many visitors love the simplicity of the town. Unlike other towns, You’ll see that the streets are narrow with a  long line of shops and restaurants. The primary modes of transportation in Coron are jeepneys and tricycles.


Before you try some water adventure, fill your stomach with delicious dishes from some of the most popular restaurants around town. Whether you’re looking for seafood, pasta, western, Asian, or Filipino dishes, you’ll find something delicious to eat in Coron. An open air restaurant called Kawayanan Grill Station is definitely worth-trying with friends along. Menus are full of Filipino cuisine including adobo and sinigang. Some of their best sellers are seafood dishes, such as lobsters and shrimps. With your belly full, explore the town and visit sites, such as the Lualhati Park and Mt. Tapyas.

You won’t have a difficult time finding hotels and inns in Coron, Philippines. Accommodations suits any type of budget, even backpackers traveling on a tight budget will have an easy time looking for an inn that meets their needs and budget.

Once you’ve settled your accommodations, it’s time go off the mainland and explore Coron’s lagoons, snorkeling spots and beaches.

Snorkel at Siete Pecados

About 20 minutes off the coast of Coron, you will see schools of flying fish, entertaining tourists going on an island hopping tour. Depending on the time of year and day you’ll be visiting Siete Pecados, you may experience strong currents. Reefs are small in this area but are beautiful. With a thriving marine life, snorkeling at Siete Pecados, Coron, Philippines, will leave you in awe.  

The Twin Lagoon

After a wonderful snorkeling experience at Siete Pecados, head on to the Twin Lagoon for another memorable experience. There are many exciting things to do in Coron, apart from snorkeling, such as kayaking. If the tide is  low enough, you may be able to pass through a hole on the rock that is separating the lagoons on a kayak. Otherwise, you may have to snorkel your way through the other lagoon.

Kayangan Lake

After swimming at the Twin Lagoon, take a hike and visit Kayangan Lake, one of the cleanest lakes in  Asia. While you may have to exert a bit of effort to get to your destination, the sight that will welcome you to the lake is worth all the huffing and puffing.
